Home Electrification & Appliance Rebates

(HEEHRA) varies depending on the type of home, household income, and equipment.

  • Single-family homes: Homeowners can receive up to $8,000 in rebates. 
     
  • Multifamily properties: Rebates can range from $700–$8,000 per unit. For low-income properties, rebates can cover up to 100% of eligible project costs, up to $14,000 per unit. For moderate-income properties, rebates can cover up to 50% of eligible project costs, up to $14,000 per unit. 
     
  • Household income: California homeowners with household incomes between 80% and 150% of the area median income (AMI) are eligible for up to $4,000. Those with incomes less than 80% AMI are eligible for up to $8,000.

Requirements

  • Available only to multifamily properties.
  • TECH-enrolled and HEEHRA-trained contractor required.
  • No new construction, retrofits only.
  • ENERGY STAR® certified equipment.
  • Only 2-stage or variable capacity systems eligible.

Requirements

  • Only for multifamily properties.
