Have you ever been so busy working late evenings that you completely neglect your to do list? Well I have. Things such  forgetting to pay the utility bills, car or even the mortgage. How about getting so busy you forgot you had a flight and missed it. Well believe it or not, I have missed all of the above.

What about your car maintenance? How often do you forget to do that? About 10 years ago my truck developed a tiny leak in the antifreeze reservoir tank. I seen the tiny drops and I filled it a few times. I knew I needed to buy a $20 tank but I procrastinated. A few days later I'm driving down the street to a friends house when all of a sudden I hear the weirdest sound coming out my truck. The truck over heated and blew the heads leaving me with a $2500 repair.

A Room full of Nickels

If I had a nickel for every time I procrastinated to change the filter on my homes air conditioning system I would have a room full of nickels. The thing is that life gets in the way, even for an air conditioning technician working his own craft.

Interestingly, I think I would have a larger room full of nickels from the energy savings if I just changed the filter every 3 months like I know I need to do.  You see I have pets in the house. And my beloved parrot named Kobe. Well he makes a lot of light grey dust that goes straight into the filter that's hard to see. Luckily I have an Air Purifier and I learned to detect the loud sound it begins to make about a month after it should have been changed which by that time. I have already ran up my AC or heating bill and most of the damage is done.

The solution then began when my wife told me, we need a scheduled maintenance plan.  I was insulted and went straight into denial, "I don't need a maintenance plan. Then I went to anger, "I wont forget!" Then I went to bargaining, "if you could just remind me and bring me the filter then I wont forget."
